Sanding is probably the best way to prep your walls. What is the best/ easiest way to wash walls before painting?
It depends on the condition of the walls. Most walls do not need to be washed. If you want to wash them, use a duluted cleaner and wipe them down.

Make sure the walls are totally dry before you begin painting them. If the walls are badly soiled, you should skip the wash and cover the walls with a coat of Binz or Bulls Eye. Both of those are primers. They cover anything.

Also, look at the existing color of the walls and the new color. Depending on what colors you are using, a primer might be needed. Then you would only need one coat of the new color. What is the best/ easiest way to wash walls before painting?
USE MURPHAYS SOAP
use tsp mixed in warm water.wash wall'shorizontlly then vertacly rinsing as you go. ther is no easy way.
Buy ';Soilex';, a powdered cleaning product in a box that looks like a dishwasher soap box. It's available in hardware stores. You can use it on walls and floors and it will not leave a residue or odor. Best of all, you don't have to rinse it off!
It depends on what you are painting over. Oil based, latex, wallpaper? They do sell a chemical additive that you mix with water, that will assure proper bonding. I have used a mop and warm, and mildly, soapy water.

Using Murphys oil soap , to me, is not really a good idea. It is an OIL soap.
