They say wash the walls after you remove wallpaper.. how much scrubbing though?

Do you want the wall to feel like sheetrock? Is it normal to have a lot of scrubbing? I've stripped the paper off with a steamer.. scraped off the backing.. now I just have primed wallboard behind it.They say wash the walls after you remove wallpaper.. how much scrubbing though?
Sounds like you are ready to paint or apply new paper to me.

As long as there are no lumps and a lot of glue residue, you are ready to go.

Priming is an option, and might make for a better job. They say wash the walls after you remove wallpaper.. how much scrubbing though?
The goal is to just get the sticky glue off the wall. Doesn't take too much scrubbing with a hot rag. Let it dry and prime away. Sounds like you are already there.
there is a cleaner called TSP that works great! You can get it at almost any hardware store. It will remove all the residue left behind by the wallpaper. if you plan on painting the walls, all the residue must be off or your paint will seperate. then you will have a big mess on your hands! hope this helps
