Colour washing walls in new house, what colours would work best?

Im about to move into a new apartment, the walls are currently bland neutrals. And I want to spice it up a bit, the feel I am going for is like the glow of candle light. So warm, yellowish/orange tones for the living room and bedroom (although red could be an option but could I tone it down with some goldenish tones some how?). The bedroom will have a more Morrocan/Asian feeling. The bathroom I would like to paint more a vibirant aqua, with a ceiling made to look like the sky (I know electic tastes). The kitchen is stark white currently, and I was thinking more a muted mango? There is also a hallway and spare bedroom to think about.

Which the current colour and themes Im going for (dramatic, yet soft, glowing, and bright/happy in the bathroom). What would work best?

I love the look of colour washing. So what could I do?

Links to ideas, paint colour suggestions would be very much appericated. Thanks =) Oh yes, there is white based boards and white crown moulding to be added.Colour washing walls in new house, what colours would work best?
The bedroom could have an accent wall in ';blood red';. The remaining walls in a butter white. Kitchens are always best is a muted white as are the hallways. The living room could be a muted llight brown or light grey. Check the sites;

Play with the divans, paint textures and lighting. These are great Italian options.
